

Carol had a remarkable talent for sewing, which she turned into a lifelong profession. With creativity and precision, she designed and crafted everything from elegant dresses to intricate ice skating outfits and imaginative costumes. Later, she became an accomplished quilter, creating beautiful, heartfelt quilts that she lovingly shared with others. Carol had a special fondness for teddy bears and cherished her own beloved collection. She also had a passion for sports and outdoor activities—she especially enjoyed swimming, tennis, ice skating, and skiing, many of which she and Bob delighted in doing together. Above all, Carol was a warm, kind-hearted soul whose presence brought joy and comfort to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
She is survived by loving husband of 59 years, Bob Mellon, children; Janet (Brent) Sauser, David (Candy) Mellon, and Paul (Christine) Mellon, grandchildren; Mike and Patrick Mellon, and aunt, Joan Collins, along with many other dear family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers; Jim and John Schmitt.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, aides, and staff at Violet Springs who cared for Carol with so much compassion and love. Scarborough Tennis and the members who have shown so much concern for Carol and Bob and provided so much experience and happiness for and in the game of tennis and continue to do so.
Family will receive friends Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 10-12PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E Livingston Ave, with a funeral service to follow at 12PM with burial following at Kingwood Memorial Park.
