

Charles D. “Charlie” Clay age 70 of Grove City passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021. Charlie was born in West Hamlin, WV to the late Charles L. and Rosella Clay and graduated from Franklin Heights High School, Class of 1969. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Charlie had a long career with Ohio Bell and Ameritech. For the last several years and until his retirement, he was a Director of Communications at The Ohio State University. Charlie was a member of Potter’s House Church of God. He enjoyed golf, playing his guitar, and working on building and renovation projects. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of over 51 years, Roslyn Clay; children Doug (Jennifer) Clay, Laura (Patrick) Londergan and Jennifer (Joshua) Phillips; grandchildren Alan Lewin, Sarah (fiancé Jonathan Priest) Clay, Erin Clay, Emma and Cohen Phillips; brother Stanley (Margaret) Clay; and sister Teresa (Gary) Davis. Charlie’s family will receive friends 10-11 AM Friday, April 9 at Potter’s House Church of God 3220 Lowell RD Columbus, OH 43204 where his Funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Pastor Timothy Oldfield officiating. All attendees will be required to wear a face mask and observe social distancing. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
