

Charles Anthony (Tony) Freck passed away in the company of his family at First and Main of Lewis Center in Lewis Center, OH on November 5, 2020 at the age of 84 after a 27-year battle with prostate cancer. Tony was born in Geneva, IL, on February 27, 1936 to Emily Carley Freck and Charles Augustus Freck, both deceased, and was preceded in death by his wife Harriet Freck in 2015. He is survived by his sisters, Carley "Bitsy" Bryson and Kay Holloway. Tony is lovingly remembered by his son, Dale Freck of Wilmington, DE (daughter-in-law Kris, grandchildren Justin and Allison), his daughter Lynn O'Donnell of Lewis Center, OH (son-in-law Tim, grandchildren Jake and Abby) and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tony married Harriet Ann Peterman in Philadelphia, PA on May 5, 1962. They lived in Daytona Beach, FL, Cincinnati, OH and Paris, France, retired to Bluffton, SC in 2007 and then the TidePointe retirement community on Hilton Head Island, SC in 2015. Tony and Harriet enjoyed entertaining guests at their summer home in Highlands, NC, or wherever they were living over the years. Tony continued his active social life at TidePointe after Harriet passed in 2015. Tony moved to Lewis Center, OH in 2020.
Tony graduated from Bayside High School, Bayside, NY in 1953, earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Tech University in 1958 and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Florida in 1966.
Tony worked as a mechanical engineer with GE Aerospace and GE Aircraft Engines for 39 years and was involved with many organizations, including the ASME, the FAA, the AIA, several homeowners' associations and various clubs and social groups.
Tony enjoyed golf, classical music, reading, woodworking, model railroading, dining out, watching football and tennis, playing cards and making new friends. He particularly loved to travel and dine out, both of which he and Harriet did extensively, and made many fond memories with friends and family all over the world.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232 later this year.
