
Charles Franklin Hull, PhD, 89, of Circleville, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown. He was born May 19, 1920 in Downs, Kansas, the son of the late Charles B. and Ebbie (Fox) Hull. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving with Company G of the 242nd Infantry (Rainbow Division).
He went to Miami University for undergraduate studies and received his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Cincinnati. Charlie was a senior chemist with Dupont and retired after 34 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and was a lifetime member of the Elks. Charlie was known as an easy-going and loving person who enjoyed fishing and golfing and loved music. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara; his children, Sharon (Richard) Wessels of Portsmouth, RI, Terry (Donna) Hull of San Francisco, CA, Leslie (Amy Burdick) Wolford of Seattle and Becky (Gary Gabriel) Burk of Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Allison (Erol) Fikri, Richard, Jason and Meredith Wessels and Wyatt Burk; special friend, Jerry Allen and his son, Jerrick; and the mother of Charlie’s children, Helen Lambers of Mason, OH. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 4, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 134 E. Mound Street, Circleville, with Pastor Steve Moulton officiating and military honors to be provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard.
