Charles T. "John" McKenzie

Charles T. "John" McKenzie, age 67 passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Wexner Heritage Village. John was born on February 17, 1949 in Paintsville, KY to Charles and Blanche (Blanton) McKenzie. He was an Over the Road Truck Driver. John worked for Interstate Motor Freight and retired from Central Transport. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. John will be remembered for sitting in the garage and talking to anyone who stopped by…..but if the door was closed just keep on going. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Willis McKenzie, Pauline Perkins and Martha McKenzie. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Frances "Frankie" McKenzie; daughter, Tracie (Hugo) Vergara; grandchildren, Brittany (Blake) Shuman, Johnathan (Danielle) Slagle and Brandon Vergara; great grandchildren, Braxton and Bryson Slagle; siblings, Wilbur (Jeri) McKenzie, Lacy (Beulah) McKenzie, Betty Biggs, Frances (Dan) Listerman and Phyllis (Bob) Shew; many nieces and nephews; and his dog Bentley. Family will receive friends from 11 -1:00 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, where service will follow at 1:00 pm.
