Charles I. Slaughter, age 72, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 peacefully at the comfort of his home. Charles was born on February 12, 1944 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late Adam and Nora (Fyffe) Slaughter. Charles served three tours in Vietnam during 1965-1970. He was with 219th MIBARS A detachment and was awarded the Bronze Star. He worked in the construction industry for 42 years in which 20 years were with Columbus Public Schools. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony and Gary Slaughter; and brother-in-law, Wilbert Giffin. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Minh; son, Michael (Christy) Slaughter; sister, Ruth Ann Giffin; dogs, Buddy, Angel, Saddie and Winston; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are welcomed 3-4 PM on Monday, May 9, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, where a funeral service will follow at 4PM.
