

The oldest of six, and raised on a farm in southeastern Ohio, Connie graduated from Bartlett High School and later received a registered Nursing Degree from White Cross Hospital in Columbus. For most of her adult life she resided and worked in Columbus, Ohio. Connie was an active and caring individual who was always willing to offer her help and support to anyone in need. She loved sewing, gardening, friends and family. She was very involved in Maple Grove Methodist Church through various volunteer activities and sang in the choir for many years.
Connie will be greatly missed by her children Nancy Hughey, Sam "Chip" and Deanna (Klein) Austin,grandchildren Kirk Hughey, Sam and Fatima (Khan) Hughey, Regan Hughey, great- grandson Cameron Hughey, sister and brother-in-law Jim and Sue Fields, brother Bob Oliver, her husband's family John and Jean Austin, and all of her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Austin, sister Frances Turner and brothers Richard and William Oliver.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Grove united Methodist Church or Wesley Hospice.
