

Curtis Scott, Jr 83, of Circleville, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 11, 1929 in Circleville, the son of Lemuel Curtis and Bessie (Ayers) Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Lou (Hollenback) Scott; son, Randy Scott; 2 sisters; and 7 brothers. Curtis was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Navy from 1948-1952. He worked as an electrician at the Mead Paper Mill in Chillicothe and retired after 37 ½ years. Curtis was a member of AMVETS Post 2256 and the Moose Lodge. He was a huge fan of OSU football and basketball and enjoyed fishing. He and wife Betty loved walking the white sandy beaches in Florida where they spent 6 months of the year.
Curtis is survived by his daughters, Vickie (Ronald) Jarrell and Gail Brown; son Todd (LaDonna) Scott; grandchildren, Bryan (Kyann) Brown, Billie Jo (Kevin Hughey) Brown, Amanda (Rob Tipton) Valentine, Anthony Scott, Summer Blair and Curtis Valentine; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida Garrett and Betty Grubb; brother, Earl Smith; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jerry Riegel.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 14, 2013 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
