

Cyrus Christopher "Chris" Weldon, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Kennesaw, Georgia. A devoted family man, veteran, and faithful servant of God, Chris lived a life marked by dedication to his beliefs, his loved ones, and his country.
Born on December 4, 1936, in Circleville, Ohio, Chris grew up with a strong sense of duty and faith that would guide him throughout his life. In 1955, he answered the call to serve his nation by enlisting in the United States Navy. He served honorably as an E-3 under the Commandant of the 4th Naval District until 1963. His years in the Navy were a source of pride and a testament to his unwavering commitment to service.
Chris was a man deeply rooted in his Christian faith. A steadfast believer in Jesus Christ, he lived as a servant of God and found strength and purpose through his spiritual convictions. His faith was not only a personal cornerstone but also a guiding light for those around him.
He shared 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Weldon, who preceded him in death. Together they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. Chris is survived by his daughter Cathy Kruse and son Kevin Weldon. He also leaves behind six grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Chris remained devoted to both family and country. His legacy is one of integrity, devotion, and quiet strength—qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church 4131 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio where friends will be received after 10:30 AM. A graveside service will follow the funeral (approximately 1:15PM) at Kingwood Memorial Park 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, Ohio where he will receive military honors.
