

He was born December 2, 1931 in Chicago, IL to the late Clarence and Hazel (Hartley) Deffenbaugh. He was a 1950 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, attended Texas AandM and graduated from Georgia Southern University. Bud served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was employed with Exxon Oil until 1974 and retired from Ashland Oil. Bud was a member of Good Samaritan Reformed Church where he also served as an elder. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Katherine Klamfoth and his brother-in-law Vince Gonino. He is survived by Helen his loving wife of 60 years, children Dan Deffenbaugh Jr., Jeni (Greg) Jones and Karen (Scott) Evans, grandchildren Aiden Jones and Helena Evans, siblings Helen (Larry) Lintner, Virginia Gonino, brother-in-law Dale Klamfoth, several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 1-4 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna where a service will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Ronald D. Lokhorst officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
