He attended Heath Church of Christ growing up and Cypress Church later in life. Dan graduated in 1981 from The Ohio State University with a degree in Communications. Although he worked in communications, his heart was in retail. He spent 15 years working at FandR Lazarus Department Store in men's apparel where he was known for excellent customer service and coordinator of men's attire. Most recently he worked at Walmart (2725) in Lewis Center for 18 years. It is in those two jobs where Dan the Man and Dan-O came in. Dan and Pam have spent the last 20 years doing life together triumphing through stages of life including the recent 5 year courageous battle with fatty liver disease. Dan was a selfless man who put family and friends first. He always cared for others but especially anyone or any animal struggling in someway. He was the one who had always a story for you, or a bit of history that often ended with a laugh and sometimes impersonations. He loved traveling, photography, history and was someone you wanted on your trivia team. As a husband he showed those around him what it means to loyally love and cherish a spouse. As a brother he would reach out, support, and offer his advice along the way. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's memory to the Cat Welfare Society, 741 Wetmore Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, Ohio 43055.
