

Dave Friedlander, known as Jerry to his brothers and sisters, passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2021. He was one month short of his 90th birthday. Dave was the 11th of the children born to Charles "Booba" and Carrie (Bom) Friedlander in Parkersburg, WVA. He will be so missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Sarah; and his sons David (Patsy) and Kenneth (Susan). He has 3 lovely grandchildren Anne (Colton), Jaclyn (Tim), and Laura (Matt); and 3 great grandchildren Cameron, Kacey, and Mackenzie. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1949 and then from Marshall University in 1957 with a business degree. He loved singing and was in a high school choir that was selected to sing before the U.S. president in 1949. Dave was also active singing in Barbershop Quartets and many church functions as well as the Sunday Choir. Dave served 4 years in the Navy, spending 2 years in post-war Japan. He was a charter member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd. He served the church by being part of many committees. He was a Boy Scout Leader for troop 588 and guided many young men toward accomplishing the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked for more than 30 years for the Pillsbury Company. Dave enjoyed his work and was respected by his coworkers as well as those he called upon. After retirement he found a new vocation in watercolor painting. He worked hard and became an accomplished artist. There are many family and friends with his artwork on the their walls. Dave was loved very much by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family, as well as his extended family through the deep friendships that he tended his whole life. He will be missed and fondly remembered by so many. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for Dave July 6, 2021 at 10AMat SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN.
