David A. Montgomery

David A. Montgomery, age 62, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 2, 2013. He was born November 23, 1950 to the late Ralph E. and Betty Montgomery Lynch. He was a 1969 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln and attended the Columbus Police Academy. David retired from the Columbus Police Department with over 25 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Montgomery Riley and beloved granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Riley, who affectionately knew him as Grampy; aunts and uncles, Karen Montgomery, Mary (Joe) Dodrill, Bill Walters and Bob (Rowena) Walters; many cousins, extended family and good friends, including Kim and Dan Blaies, his Bob Evans family and his dog, “Harley”. He enjoyed golfing, was a loyal Buckeye fan and will be forever remembered as a kind hearted man. Family will receive friends 5-8 pm (FOP service at 7:30pm) Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher), Gahanna, OH 43230. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am Friday, February 8, at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230; Pastor Dwight Hedrick, officiating; Private family interment at a later date.
