

David Himes Zwerner, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 23, 2012. He was born June 2, 1923 to the late Max and Floy Zwerner and was a graduate of East High School. David served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the
U.S. Postal Service and worked part time for Salt Brothers Hardware. He was affectionately called “Fireball” by his co-workers due to his fiery red hair and rapid gait! He loved boating, gardening, and being outdoors. David was preceded in death by dear friend, Margaret Reeder. He was a devoted father to daughter, Sara L. (John) Conville; dedicated grandfather to, Shannon C. (Conville) Meiers and Sean P. Conville; great-grandfather to Mitchell and Brennan Meiers, and Zachary and Kamden Conville; brother to Mary McAlister and Martha (Earl) Ephlin of FL; nieces, Julie (Carl) Pecko and Linda McAlister; nephews, Robert and Roger Ephlin; several great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E.
