You were a mentor to many in the law and a friend as well.  You were  a long-time and strong advocate for injured workers, especially the law enforcement community.   I learned a lot from you and was always grateful for your influence .  What I never told you was how much I admired your physical and emotional toughness - because you endured a lot and were tough as a nail.   I’ll miss you.

Very sorry to hear of Dean's passing, when I was in law school Dean gave me a job and a direction as I was beginning my career. I was fortunate enough to have him as a partner for several years many years later. Dean was an excellent attorney and a finer man, he will be missed.

Dody and I were sorry to hear of Dean’s passing.  I saw it in the stay connected e mail from the church today.
I always enjoyed Dean asking me to explain a rule either for baseball or basketball.
We will hold Dean in our memory for a long long time.

Dean was a wonderful, kind, caring man who dedicated his life to serving others. As a well respected attorney in Columbus OH, he worked tirelessly, fighting for Worker's Compensation and Social Security Disability benefits for those who couldn't fight for themselves.  He was one of the most giving and intelligent people I have ever known. He was best friends with his cousin and my grandmother Beverly Kammeyer (deceased) and her sister, Barbara Crook, and I will never forget the closeness these three shared all of their lives. 

I worked with Dean in his law office for a short period of time; a favor he generously extended to my grandmother, in order to help me while I was in college, and I will always be grateful to him for that. Dean gave so much more to this world than what the world ever gave back to him, and we will all miss him dearly. While I am sad he has passed, I am excited for him to finally be reunited with his sons, David and Dean Kirk, and know my grandmother will be at the gates of heaven to give him the biggest welcome hug ever! We love you Dean and can't wait to hear about these reunions when we see you in heaven ourselves, down the road.
