Dennis L. Challen

Dennis L. Challen passed away on January 21, 2010 at his home in Lewis Center, OH after a brief illness. Denny was born on September 30, 1946 in Findlay, OH to the late Clement and Margaret Street Challen. He grew up on the family farm in McComb, OH and graduated from McComb High School in 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country as a combat veteran in Viet Nam. He married Anna Mash in 1986, and was the father of Lana, who preceded him in death and his son Nicholaus Challen. He was currently employed at Volvo in Columbus, having worked there since 1987. He will be deeply missed by his son Nicholaus of Columbus, OH; brothers Darrel (Eileen) Challen of McComb, OH; James Challen of Ranier, WA; sisters Shirley Ann Bates of Phoenix, AZ; Susan Eckel of Riverside, CA; Betty Jean (Ralph) Weilant of Perrysburg, OH; and wife Anna Challen of Columbus, OH. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11-1 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 PM to Mifflin Twp. Cemetery, Gahanna, OH for a graveside service at 2 PM.. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
