Dennis "Pickey" Hickey

Dennis J. "Pickey" Hickey, 76, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully June 14, 2017. He was born July 16, 1940 in Mentor, Ohio to William and Edith (Hinton) Hickey; also preceded in death by brothers, James, Robert and William Hickey. Dennis graduated from Mentor High School, class of '58, and attended The Ohio State University. He was a well-known real estate agent in central Ohio with over 4 decades of service at HER Realtors; also a proud member of Who's Who in Real Estate. He loved fishing and was proud of his Irish heritage. Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Patsy (Rakes) Hickey; children, Kelly (Hickey) Ginn, Christopher (Sara) Hickey, William (Jill) Allmon, Patricia (Allmon) Maynard and James (Kim) Allmon; brother, Thomas "Jerry" Hickey. He was affectionately known as Papa Hoagie to his 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The Hickey family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Byrd and his staff at The James Cancer Hospital, for everything they did to extend Dennis' life expectancy by almost 18 years.
