

Donald H. Priest, age 82, formerly of Grove City died Sunday November 1, 2009 in Newark. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary; daughters, Diane and Kristina Priest; brothers, James, Tom, Bob, Chuck Priest; sisters, Rita Whalen. Don is survived by his daughter, Donna J. (James) Brownfield; son, Jeffrey M. (Alice) Priest; grandchildren, Joseph (Darcy), Angela, Corey, Kelli, Sara, Christopher, and Amy; great granddaughter, Addison Brownfield; sister, Peggy (Hugh) Miller, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Don graduated from Aquinas High School and then joined the Army serving during WWII in the European Theater. He worked for Columbus Auto Parts for 35 years and retired being a manager. He started his professional career as a tool and dye maker. Don was a sports fanatic watching whatever game was on tv, but especially liked the Buckeye’s and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed being around his family. Don was a 50 year member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church as well as a member of the UAW 30, a founding member of the OLPH School, and a Saturday night mass usher. Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2009 from 4-7pm with prayer service at 6:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3710 Broadway, Grove City at 10am with Rev. Fr. John Swickard, Celebrant. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
