Donald J. Ryan

Donald J. Ryan, age 88, of Columbus passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Don was born on October 17, 1921 in Columbus to John Francis and Mary (Brochtrup) Ryan; who preceded him in death. Don is also preceded in death by brother, Francis and his infant sister. Don is a WWII Navy Veteran, where he served in North Africa. He retired after many years from Campbell and Rose as a Certified Public Accountant. Don was a member of The American Legion in Delaware and Our Lady of Peace Parish in Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth; children, Carolyn (Peter) Hendey, Thomas (Jacqueline) Ryan, Daniel (Jodell) Ryan and Cynthia (Steven) Mygrant; 7 grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew, Leah, Dustin, Michael, John and Elizabeth; 2 great grandchildren, Seth and Julia; along with 4 nieces and one nephew. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, 2009 from 6-8pm with a prayer service at 6pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish, 20 East Dominion Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Father Kevin Kavanagh Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish.
