Donald G. Stevenson

Donald G. Stevenson, age 93, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Donald was born July 13, 1925 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Glen and Ruby Stevenson. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 57 years Carolyn (Needler) Stevenson. Donald served in the United States Army during World War II. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and with a Master of Education from The Ohio State University. Teaching was his passion with the Bexley school system for 35 years. As a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church for over 50 years he took pride in attending their bible study group named "Experienced Troopers". Being a member of "Camp 5", a hunting lodge located in Upper Peninsula Michigan was an important part of his life. During his retirement years he enjoyed going to the elementary and middle schools giving lectures on World War II. Hunting, fishing and all things outdoors were activities he loved. He especially loved his time sitting on the back patio of his house and enjoying nature while smoking a fine cigar. Donald will be deeply missed by his son, Scott (Susan) Stevenson and their two children; daughters, Sheryl Callaghan and her two children and Stacey (Mark) Moor; and sister, Shirley Wenner. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church (UALC): Mill Run Campus, 3500 Mill Run Drive, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
