Donna Jean Bender

Donna Jean Bender, age 58 of Columbus passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Mt. Camel Medical Center. Donna Jean was a graduate of Franklin Heights High School where she was active in the band and was a statistician for the wrestling and basketball teams. She was a Jerry Razor Dance Party Dancer. She retired from Nationwide Insurance as a computer programmer after many years of service. Always wanting to stay busy, she most recently was employed by Wal-Mart. She loved animals especially her dog “Boo Boo” who was her constant companion these past years. Everyone who knew Donna Jean will miss her smile and how she lit up a room. Preceded in death by her father Donald E. Meeks; mother Margaret Meeks; and husband Paul Bender. She is survived by her 3 sisters Anna Meeks, Victoria (Gary) May; and Gloria (Steve) Kolanko; step-sons Paul ( Missy) Bender III and David (Darlene) Bender; 2 grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many special friends including the Chapman family. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. BROAD ST. where the funeral service to honor Donna Jean’s Life will be held 1 PM Saturday.
