

Dorothy Foster (Avis) Rodgers passed away on January 30th, 2016 at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus, Ohio. Dorothy was born August 5th, 1919 to William and Lou Avis in Circleville, Ohio. She was a graduate of Circleville High School and married Ralph A. Rodgers on August 16th, 1942. Ralph passed away on January 16th, 1986 after a wonderful life and marriage together. Dorothy lived in Upper Arlington, Ohio all her married and adult life. She was a competitive bridge player, a member of the Nationwide Children's TWIG charity, and an avid Ohio State University athletics fan. Her favorite Buckeye story was that she and Ralph walked to Ohio Stadium from their Arlington home for the 1950 "Snow Bowl". She is survived by relatives Carol Tomastik Sheets (Sedona, AZ) and Marla Tomastik (Upper Arlington, OH). Dorothy's good cheer and zest for life will be missed by neighbors and her dear friends James and Susan Peppe (Upper Arlington, OH) and their family. Friends may call on Saturday, February 6th, 2016 from 9:00am to 10:00am at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, followed by funeral service at 10:00am with Rev. Len Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery Circleville, Ohio.
