Edward David Hawkins, age 77, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on May 9, 2025. He was born on Feb. 1, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Edward and Lillian (Smith) Hawkins. He joins in death his parents and siblings Anthony “Tony” Hawkins and Victor Hawkins. Edward leaves behind his loving son Edward David Hawkins Jr.; granddaughter Kiara Alexis Hawkins; close friend and neighbor of 48 years Freda (Cookie) Robertson; Edward worked for COTA for 31 years and will be deeply missed by co-workers and friends Ben Boyd, Cornelius Tucker, Glenn and James Armstrong. Edward absolutely loved cars and he took such pride in keeping them clean well maintained. He also loved going to his favorite restaurant Ponderosa. He was also proud to serve his country in the US Air Force. There will be a visitation for Edward on Friday May 23, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM at Advantage by Schoedinger – North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 where the funeral service will start at 4PM.
