Edward William Ulko, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on the evening of April 26th, 2023 at the tender age of 42. Edward was born on October 25th, 1980 to Peggy and Roy Ulko in Lancaster, Ohio. After Ed graduated from Westfall High School in 1999, he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp through 2004. He was deployed to Okinawa, served six months on a Mediterranean float and fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was finally able to return home knowing his first son, Eddie Jr., had been born. Ed loved being a father and had 4 sons.
He studied culinary arts at Columbus State and shared his visions from his heart with several companies like Hollywood Casino, OSU Athletic Department, and most recently at Grace Christian School where his youngest son attended school and was able to enjoy a daily lunch made by Ed. He fell madly in love with Sarah Rannebarger and they enjoyed four days short of 17 years together. They lived to build their family with God, unconditional love, and happiness as they created memories that will last forever. His Pride was in his family and in his relationship with God.
He had many hobbies like fishing, baseball, camping, and golf, but his passion was leading youth to Christ. You would catch him most often with his crew of 6th, 7th and 8th grade church group boys, demonstrating his military skills by shooting his 678 boys with gel blaster guns. He lived his life to the fullest all day every day.
Ed was preceded in death by grandparents Edward S. Ulko, Genevieve Ulko, and Elmer Green. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife Sarah Ulko, sons Edward Ulko Jr., Drake Ulko, Nathan Ulko, Gabriel Winnestaffer (stepson), grandmother Mary Green, father Roy Ulko, mother Peggy Phillips, sisters Carlita Ulko, and Tanisha Fuller, brothers Deion Fuller and Brandon Fuller, niece Naiomi Fuller, nephew Neo Fuller, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 starting at 5:00 PM at Grace Fellowship, 1449 Refugee Road, Pickerington, OH 43147. Military Honors will begin at 7:00PM with the Memorial Service to follow.
