Elizabeth E. Reeves

Elizabeth E. Reeves, 99, of Columbus, passed away on October 7, 2015 at Mill Run Gardens Nursing Care, Hilliard, Ohio. Elizabeth was born in Germany to Walter and Karoline Gries on May 26, 1916. In 1926 she came with her family at the age of 10 to live in the United States. She grew up in Columbus and married Jack D. Reeves in 1935. She dedicated her life to family, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always there for support and guidance when needed. Over the years she was a sales associate at several women's clothing stores, including Lazarus Kingsdale. During her retirement, Elizabeth enjoyed being a volunteer with the Columbus Cancer Clinic, and also enjoyed traveling to many places around the world with friends and family. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Reeves; brothers Walter and Kurt Gries; and sisters Lena Neuman, Paula Bopes and Elfrieda Calonaro. She is survived by sister Edith Paige; sons Jack R. (Wanda) Reeves and Michael J. (Gigliola) Reeves; grandchildren Glenn, Gary and Zacharias Reeves, Christina (Thomas) Eckenrode, Michael (Theresa) Reeves, Patrick (Vanessa) Reeves; and great grandchildren Sebastian Reeves, Joshua Simpson, Hilary Simpson, Kacie Eckenrode, Mitchel Reeves and Madison Reeves. There will be a private family ceremony to celebrate Elizabeth's life with inurnment at Union Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road.
