

Elizabeth R. “Betty” (England) Taggart, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, Monday, April 26, 2010. She was born in Snowflake, West Virginia on December 14, 1934 to the late Thornton and Helen England. She attended Greenbrier High School and Marshall College (University) majoring in Physical Education. After college she moved to Columbus, Ohio to teach for Columbus Public Schools where she taught physical education and 5th grade. At this time she met her husband of 53 years. Betty, lovingly nicknamed “Tweetie”, was a cheerleader and Senior Homecoming Queen at Marshall, secretary of the Forest Park Civic Association, captain of the Worthington Hills Country Club Tennis Team, and active fund raiser for TWIG for many years. She spent many winters in Naples, Florida and summers in Catawba Island, Lake Erie. Betty was an avid tennis player, bowler, sports enthusiast, and grandmother “mamaw” to her 7 grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Robert T. Taggart; sons, Mark F. (Suzanne) Taggart and R. Jason (Barbara) Taggart; daughter, Mary (Jeff) Tarrier; beloved grandchildren, Beau and Kathleen Taggart, Emily and Abigail Tarrier, and Lily, Brendan, and Quinn Taggart; sister, Helen (Walter) Imbrock; brothers, Bill (Joan) England and Jim (Mary) England; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, April 30, 2010 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM with prayer service at 7:30PM at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL1740 Zollinger RD.
