

Emily Roggenkamp Chidester, 81, died peacefully on Monday after a brief battle with CNS lymphoma. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Emily was preceded in death by parents Carl and Zella Roggenkamp and brother David Roggenkamp. A graduate of Bayview High School, Milwaukee, WI, she attended Northwestern University and graduated from Ohio State University. She was a former teacher in the Columbus school system. As a long-time member and volunteer at First Community Church, she also served as wedding coordinator and active member of Guild Group X. She was a loyal member of Delta Delta Delta Alumni and Childhood League Bd. VI. Survived by husband of fifty-eight years, Thomas, sons Paul (Carole) and William and wonderful grandchildren Genevieve, Aliene and Caroline Chidester. Also survived by sister-in-law Lorey Roggenkamp, nephews Richard (Rene), David (Peggy), Dan (Theresa) Roggenkamp and their families, brother-in-law, Robert Chidester, sisters-in-law, Mary (Dr. Chas.) Ackley, Ruth (Ben) Kramer and their families. A memorial service will be held at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10 a.m., the Reverend James Long officiating.
