I am so sorry to learn of Eric's passing.  He has been on my Top Ten List of Favorite Other People's Husbands.  Such a nice guy!  He always asked about my ( ill) daughter, even from his bed at The James.  I thought that was so kind of him. Of course, now he will be on my Top Ten list of Favorite People in Heaven.

Dear Judy and family, 
Eric was such a part of my career with SK&F,  and GSK.  He was a teammate when I was a new rep, and he was a teammate when I was a new manager. Eric made me feel welcome and I learned a lot from him. He was a great role model.  I knew there would be humor at meetings because Eric always had a funny story or a joke and his delivery was "spot on". He was compassionate, kind, gentle and a good listener.  He was not afraid to ask 'why' if he felt the need.  

My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the difficult days ahead.  May light shine perpetual upon his soul.  Jan Kessler

Grand Vase - The Basalt was purchased for the family of Eric E. Hess.

We have lived next door to Eric and Judy for almost 15 years now.  I used to refer to him as "Wilson," as we'd chat over the high grasses between our houses.  Eric was always busy working in the yard and landscaping, and their curb appeal could not be topped.  If he wasn't cutting or pruning, he was sawing or swinging a hammer.  Mr. Fix-it always had a project going on.  He built a sanctuary in their back yard, with paths that run through it,  bird houses, whimsical art, and a fountain or two.  We could smell his bar-b-que cooking as we sat on our porch.  He would give us vegetables from his garden.  He was one of the funniest people we knew, and could throw a punch line that would have us roaring.  Chuck and I always loved being in his and Judy's company.  As his health declined, he fought hard. He didn't want to leave his family and friends.  However, God had a different plan.  His work on Earth was complete and he was called home.  May you rest in peace, Eric.  We love you.  Our deepest sympathy to you, Judy, and to your beautiful family.
