Born on November 8, 1937, in Kelheimwinzer, Germany, Erna’s life journey took her across continents and through decades of love, devotion, and strength. After immigrating to Ohio from Germany, she embraced her new home with deep affection and unwavering gratitude. Her love for the United States remained a constant throughout her life.
Erna was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was especially cherished by her late husband Alfred and their son Anthony. Her legacy continues through her remaining daughters and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives she was a constant presence in. Watching them grow brought her immense happiness.
A woman of deep faith, Erna found comfort and community in her church. Her spiritual life was a guiding force that shaped her humble demeanor and generous heart. She expressed her love through simple yet meaningful acts such as gardening, baking traditional German cookies at Christmas, and traveling with family. She enjoyed spending many hours working on puzzles.
Erna’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her including her family, many friends, and those fortunate enough to share in the warmth of her company. Her memory will live on in the traditions she passed down and the love she gave so freely.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
