Eugene H. Freck Jr.

Eugene H. Freck, Jr., age 66, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his home. He was born August 17, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Eugene H. Sr. and Mary (Berry) Freck. Gene was retired as a mechanic with Sears Auto Service Centers following 28 years of service. He just retired last month from COTA after 24 years as a mechanic and stock room clerk. Gene is survived by his daughter Melissa Freck; son Chris Freck; grandchildren, Noah Paskins and Alexis Freck; sister, Dovie (Jim) Keyser; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ina Freck in 2014; a brother Jerry Freck and sister Brenda Gibson. Gene loved baseball, especially watching Melissa and Chris play through school and root for the Cincinnati Reds. He was also an avid OSU Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where family and friends may call from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Monday.
