

Eva M. “Polly” Sowers, 89, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born September 5, 1924, in Circleville, the daughter of Charles May and Lucy (Thompson) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion F. “Sarge” Sowers; son, Terry Sowers; her parents; and sister, June Streitenberger.
Polly is survived by her children, Beverly (Jack) Street, Patricia Sowers, Garry Sowers and Michele Sowers; grandchildren, Mark (Janine) Sowers, Erica Street, Christopher (Toni) Hoop, Billie Jo (Jessie) Sherrick, Mary Kay (Jeremy) Harding, Harold “Tug” (Dannille) Hoop, Jr., Ryan, Emma Jo and Jennifer Crabtree; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; special niece, Debbie Simard; daughter-in-law, Lulabelle Sowers; many nieces, nephews and good friends. Polly was an auxiliary member of AMVETS, VFW and the American Legion. She was an avid bingo player and loved watching Walker, Texas Ranger, Bonanza and Law and Order on TV. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 22, 2014 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Casey officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. The family thanks Brenda Dade, Teresa Reed and Judy Hall from Constance Care for the wonderful care they gave Miss Eva.
