While attending Morgan State University she married Dr. Lemuel B. Moore III and began her military life at Camp Zama Military Post in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. They had two children, Lemuel W. Moore born at Camp Zama and Lyndon B. Moore born in Wilmington, Delaware.
Lyndon and Lemuel remember their mother always furthering her education while pursuing her passion of family, education and mentoring children. She finished her undergraduate degree at Morgan State University in Baltimore and earned her Masters and PhD in Gainesville, Florida.
Floreese started the Monarch Center for Exceptional Students in Gainesville, Fl. She served as the Principal of Sidney Lanier Center and held several administrative leadership positions while in Gainesville. In 1990, Floreese relocated to Columbus, Ohio as Assistant Superintendent for Columbus City Schools (CCS). Floreese held various leadership positions and retired as Principal of Northtowne Elementary School.
Floreese was intensely passionate concerning her family and work; she helped many children and parents overcome various disabilities and become productive members of their communities. While working at Northtowne Elementary, she would spend her days with the children, parents, staff and administrators. Her nights and early mornings were spent completing the plethora of paperwork that could not be done during the school day. Often, she would not leave Northtowne until midnight and arrive at 7:00 AM.
In addition to her CCS responsibilities she was the primary in home caregiver for her aging parents for two years and managed somehow to enjoy family and friends. Floreese was blessed with an angel named Bernadette who stepped in to assist Floreese with her caregiving. Bernadette became family and remains so today. Bernadette helped Floreese celebrate her parents' birthdays, anniversaries and the Jones family reunions in Wilson, North Carolina.
As a mother, Floreese provided both exposure and opportunity for both of her sons. For instance, she introduced Lyndon and Pete to Jack and Jill, an organization, teaching character and social education, leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.
Floreese was a fiercely proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority which runs strong in her family circles. She was also an Alumna of The Links, Incorporated, an international organization of 14,000 professional women of color that share an earnest desire to improve the social, political and financial conditions of people who reside within their communities
Floreese loved and cherished her two granddaughters Lemorria R. Moore and Atorria A. Moore, and one great grandson, Jaden Moore.
