Florence M. Welch

Florence M. Welch, age 92, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. She was born in Logan, Ohio, on January 11, 1920, to the late Lawrence and Clara Rectenwald. Flo worked in the finance department at DCSC, and she was a member of St. Anthony Parish. She was an animal lover and donated regularly to the ASPCA and Humane Society. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Welch; and siblings, Rosemary Shaffer, Margaret Blosser, and John Rectenwald. Flo is survived by her longtime companion, Charles G. Peterson, who cared for her for many years; nephews, Mike Shaffer and John Blosser; and niece, Sharon Gawronski. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Drive; Fr. Tom Petry, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
