

Frank D. Forestiere. Lt. Colonel Frank D. Forestiere, US Army, Retired, died February 23, 2013 at Naples, Florida. Frank was a 26 year veteran of the US Army, having served in Japan, Europe and Vietnam. He was a highly decorated veteran, winning the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Frank was inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Heroes in May of 2005. After retiring from the Army in 1980, Frank worked as a Management Consultant and Management Development Trainer for Arthur Young & Co. (now Ernst & Young) in Washington D.C. In 1987, he entered the Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) Program and became a senior instructor at East Duplin HS in Beulaville, NC. He left to open a new program at T.C. Williams HS in Alexandria, VA in 1990. Frank left T.C. Williams to open another new program at Kenton HS in Hardin County, Ohio. Frank retired from the JROTC program in 2000. He was the past president of the Military Officers of American Assoc., and past president and founding member of the Ohio Cobra Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Angela Rose Forestiere. Frank is survived by his wife Judith G. Hayes; sister Linda (Michael) Lowrey; his children Anthony (Elizabeth), Juliane (Chuck), Jean-Paul, Steve (Sarah) Bridget (Andy), Kelli (Mark), Andy (Yvette); 17 grandchildren Jessica, Jacob, Brian, Heather, Jamie, Jonathon, Christopher, Sarah, Amy, Matthew, Avery, Morgan, Nicholas, Katie, Benjamin, Megan and Molly; three great-grandchildren Ryann, Indie and Reagan. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smokey Row Rd., Columbus, where family will receive friends from 9:00 to the time of Mass. Father Justin J. Reis, Celebrant. Frank will be buried with full Military Honors 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third Street, Dayton, 45428.
