Fred served in the U.S. Air Force and proudly carried the draft card in his wallet to this day. Coming from humble beginnings, Fred’s upbringing helped to mold his character into a conservative and confident small business owner. He launched Alpha Container, Co. Inc. during a hard economic environment with the support of his wife of 48 years, Hilda. Fred was honest, quiet, and very respectful. He and Hilda raised a family of independent, self-reliant, conservative tax payers. A baptized believer in Christ, he was a huge testimony to the church, family, and friends. Fred loved boating, fishing, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and hunting with his grandchildren. He was so loved by his family and will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; and brother, William. Fred will be missed by his loving children, Heidi, Noel (Sharon), Billie (James), Mark (Linda), Christopher (Linda), and Freddie, Jr. (Jody); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Freda.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270), where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, Minister David Roberson, officiating. Interment in Flint Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. To share memories of Fred, visit www.schoedinger.com.
