Frederick A. Grossman

Frederick A. Grossman, age 74 of Gahanna, died Sunday December 18, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was a 1955 graduate of St Thomas Aquinas High School, Veteran US Army. Fred retired from the Dispatch Printing Company after 47 years! He was a charter member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Quarter Century Club at the Dispatch. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling to Ocean Isle with “the Gang” for over 30 years as well as their regular Tuesday nights at The Gahanna Grill. He will be remembered for not only his work ethic but how he was “others” centered. He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Grossman, survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jeff and Anne Grossman of Reynoldsburg, Michael and Kimberly Grossman of Canal Winchester; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Jack Meredith of Reynoldsburg, Therese and Bert Harrison of Tipp City, Christine and Chris Ridings of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and long time companion Sandy. The family will receive friends 4-8pm Tuesday at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel 1051 East Johnstown Road (at Beecher Road) Gahanna. Vigil Service 7:30pm Tuesday. Funeral Mass 10 am Wednesday December 21, 2011 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in his memory.
