Frederick “Fred” Laytart (Sonny), 82, of Columbus, OH, was born on Febuary 12th, 1944 and passed away on December 27th, 2025 peacefully at home with his loved ones. He served in the Army and worked at Jefferys Mining and Techniglas (Owens-Illinois). He was a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds, along with his morning coffee and newspaper. He was the best husband, dad, and Papaw there was! He spent a lot of his time doing yard work and spending lots of time with his grandkids, and he loved life to the fullest.
Sonny was survived by his wife, Donnie Laytart; daughter, Crystal Laytart; Brother David Laytart; grandchildren Aaron (Kerstin) McIver and Dakota (Ashlie) Burns; and great-grandchildren Asher, Greyson, Bella, Oliver, Malaki, and Colt.
He was preceded in death by his mother, two sisters, and a brother. He will be remembered with a celebration of life, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project link can be found below.
