Furman Allen, age 100, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2016. Furman was born on August 31, 1915 in Allenville, Wisconsin to the late Harry O. and Clara S. (Furman) Allen. Furman was the fourth of six children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Allene M. (Miller) Allen. He will be greatly missed by children, Mary A. Austin and Thomas F. (Olga Kukal, PhD) Allen; grandchildren, Jonathon D. Austin and Jennifer M. (Robert Napier) Austin; and his friend, Pat Hitesman. A private service will be held by the family at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made The OSU Army ROTC Scholarship Fund, 1480 W.
