

Gale Hull Whetzel, age 60, of Upper Arlington passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010, after her courageous 15 year battle with cancer. Gale was born on July 24, 1949 in Columbus; she was the daughter of the late Dr. Jimmy and Betty Hull. She is a graduate of Upper Arlington High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in English at Sweetbriar College in Amherst, Virginia. She was a member of Xenos Christian Fellowship for 22 years; and was past president of Ohio Wildlife Resource Rehabilitation Center. Gale loved bird watching, writing, and her bible studies. She had a positive outlook on life and always put her loved ones before her. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gene Whetzel; devoted sons, Robin Andrew and James Philip and his wife, Beth; step-mother, Virginia Hull; step-brother and sisters, Stephen and Holly Wittmann, Christine and Joel Snyder, Frederic Wittmann, Christine Kondoleon, and Amy & Jeff Wittmann; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1pm at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio; with a memorial service to follow at 4:30 pm at Xenos Christian Fellowship, 1340 Community Park Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229; with a reception to follow after services.
