Dear Gene & Family,
You don't know me, yet I knew Gale when she was a kid and well into her late teens. Her dad, Dr. Jimmy, and her mom at that time Betty (& later Ginny) were best friends to my dad and mom Robert Y. & Jeanne Dienst (who lived nearby on Sandover, about half a mile away from the Hull homestead on Lane Ave).  I remember watching Gale many times ride her horse around the training circle in her high school days -- I thought that was the bee's knees! I remember the really good times when our families shared a winter home on Alton Road in old Miami Beach in the 1960's.  Dr. Jimmy's vacation mission was to play golf every day and eat out every night and to get sun-burned too, a "badge of honor" he would say.   And at times our families would go at the same time to Miami.  I use to drive the gold cart watching my dad and Dr. Jimmy play golf.  I use to go to La Gorce Country Club (on Alton Rd too) and spend many a winter evening dining with my folks the Hulls (Gale's dad and step mom Ginny), plus Tom & Betty Monaghan (of Columbus).   I remember walking down Alton Road one afternoon with Gale Ann and my sister Diana Heinl (of Gilbert, AZ, now) me being 13, Gale about 15, Diana about 18,  and me telling a slightly dirty joke and the girls laughing a real belly laugh. After I graduated college (1974) our the family kids drifted apart.  Yet our dads remained very close until one of them died (Dr. Jimmy I think dies a year before my dad).  Then our families broke contact.

Gale was the sweetest person on the planet and always kind to every living thing.    Glad to know that she had a full and wonderful life for the most part. She is truly missed.

Dear  Gene,
We are so saddened by your loss and the profound battle Gale fought through these years.  We send our heartfelt sympathy that words cannot express.  We have made a contribution to the Kidney Cancer Foundation in Gale's name.  Our support and thoughts are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Gale was always so excited to see our girls and she even brought our six month old Riley a gift to the Greenbrier several years ago.  Gale's smile and laugh would light up any room.

Gale did little things to always make the Bannister's feel special...and we continue to feel the same about her!

Sarah & I are sad to hear that Gale lost her valiant battle.  

Gale was so fun a person even in the face of her illness.  All will miss her, but especially you Gene for we are sure that you are who you are in a large part because of Gale.  We pray for Gale and pray for you that you can draw on your deep reserves of spiritual and inner strength to see you through this time.

This is not good-bye, for now, it's a new beginning at our home with Jesus, and boy, what a lucky woman to be there and rejoice in his love! God is truly wonderful! Gale was always a happy, vibrant woman who loved other people.  She was a great friend to me and to my children.  Whenever I would see her, she never failed to greet me with a big smile.  Her first question was always, "How are the kids?"

My daughter, Beth, loved going "creeking" with Gale while at the OSBA changeover meetings.  "Creeking" involved walking along the creek, looking at nature.  Gale never failed to make it a fun learning experience.

We will all miss her greatly.
