

Gary Phillip Hughes, born June 22, 1945, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Preceded in death by father, Jesse and mother Gloria (Conard) Hughes and sister-in-law, Jane Adair Cornetet. Survived by loving wife Diana; brother, Thomas and wife Tina Hughes; father-in-law, Eugene Miller, and of course our pride and joy, Baby Bella! Gary was a lover of life. His passion was working at the Beulah Park Television and Simulcasting Department for 40 years. Another passion was his music, having played in the bands: Americana Brass, The Majestics, and The Ravens. He was known as “Chopper” by his musical family. He was also inducted into the Columbus Music Hall of Fame. His other interests included traveling to the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, Bahamas and Las Vegas. He also loved boating on Lake Erie, taking the “Double Down” cruising to Put-in-Bay, Middle Bass Island, and Windsor Canada, or wherever the boat was headed. Gary will be greatly missed. Friends are welcome to join us for a Celebration of his Life from 2-4 pm Saturday, May 5, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family, in his memory.
