

George A. “Alec” Mealy, age 88, of Springfield, Ohio and more recently of Bexley, Ohio died peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Emeritus at Lakeview. George was born in Vienna, West Virginia and grew up in both Ohio and Kentucky, son of the late Ralph and Regina Mealy. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Guenivere Mealy and sister, Imogene Brown. George retired from the State of Ohio, Department of Commerce where he worked as a State Chartered Credit Union Examiner. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Masonic Clark Lodge #0101, Elks, and was a proud WWII Veteran serving as a CB in the U.S. Navy, South Pacific. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and his calm loving devotion will be his posterity to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his children, Chris (Liz) Mealy of Austin, TX and Annette (Steve) Kuss of Bexley, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexis (Matt) Meece of Austin, TX, Clair (Lee) Holt of Potsdam, Germany, Julie (Brian) Klopfer, Allison (Ted) Finn, Andrew (Jeny) Kuss of Portland, OR, and Alex (Hilary) Kuss of Harvard, MA; great grandchildren, Meredith and Hannah Klopfer, Miller and Campbell Kuss, Willa and George Finn, and Ella Kuss; niece, Robin (Tom) Emerick of Washington, WV; and numerous other friends and buddies from Springfield and Dayton. Memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 201 N. Limestone St., Springfield.
