Diehl, Gerald Nevin (Jerry), age 64, passed away peacefully in his home March 22, 2019 surrounded by the love of his family. Jerry was born September 3, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Thomas and Rita Ann Diehl. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Steve, father-in-law Bob Harper and sister-in-law Carrie Beth Diehl. He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 wonderful years, Julie Harper Diehl, his son and best friend, Joshua, his beloved daughter-in-law Chelsea and absolute loves of his life, his grandchildren Bella and Judah Gerald. Jerry is also survived by siblings Tom (Susan), Dave (Debbie), Ed, Sue, Greg Diehl and Tricia (Chris) O'Connor, his mother-in-law Grace, brother-(and sister)-in-laws, Bob (Carol), Jeff and John Harper. He was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and twin great-great nephews. Jerry was an extremely kind, loving, wise and fun man who loved his family and friends, and his career as a ReMax Affiliates realtor for over 16 years. Jerry a true story teller, loved to share especially 3 things: his love and pride for his son; his countless, fun times spent with his grandchildren and his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jerry's ministry spanned over 38 years. He took every opportunity to share his faith and proclaim the goodness of God. His faith was inspiring, unexplainable and unwavering. Even during his hardest days, his trust, hope and love for God shined through. Jerry, a proud member of World Harvest Church, simply stated "loved God and loved People". It is impossible to adequately thank those family members and special friends who walked with us every step of this long, hard journey. Your prayers, support, generosity and loyalty is immensely appreciated and eternally etched in our hearts. To Pastors Rod and Joni Parsley, the superb Visitation Team, the Elders and members of World Harvest Church who continually ministered to our family, thank you!! Your love and prayers for Jerry and our family has forever deeply impacted us. We would also like to thank Schree Vulvara for her extraordinary care and the entire staff of Ohio Health Hospice. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and a Celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 28 at World Harvest Church, 4595 Gender Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. Jerry, always studying and learning, believed every person should be given the opportunity to grow to their full potential, whatever their passion, through education. Jerry's desire was to help equip his grandchildren with a solid education, therefore in lieu of flowers, checks made payable to Bella Diehl or Judah Diehl with the word "EDUCATION" in the memo portion would help fulfill Jerry's dream for his grandchildren.
