Gerald Goode

Gerald T Goode, age 87, passed away in the presence of his family November 20, 2018. He was born May 2, 1931 to his parents William and Ruth (Maechtel) Goode in Pickaway County, Ohio. Gerald was a simple man who knew what was important in life, and who was no stranger to hard work. He retired from DuPont after 40 years of loyal service. Gerald married the love of his life Charlotte (Rader) in 1957, and they were devoted and loving to each other until her passing in 1998. His family always came first, and he was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. One of his passions was farming, he loved and respected the land he worked. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Charlotte, and 8 siblings.

Left to mourn his passing are his sons Douglas (Cheryl) Goode and Paul (Kelly) Goode; his grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Garber, Tyler (Chelsie) Goode, Evan (Moriah) Goode, Alexis Goode and Jordan Goode; great grandchildren Mason, Charlotte, Nora Garber, Emory and Addison Goode, and Aubrey Jacobs; and his siblings David Goode, Paul Goode and Ruth Seimer.

Visitation will be held at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger funeral home, located at 151 East Main Street Circleville, on Sunday, November 25 from 3 to 7pm. Gerald’s funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 134 W Mound Street Circleville on Monday November 26 at 10am with Father Ted Machnik officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
