

Gerald Leland Heskett, 96, passed away on September 20, 2019. He was born on December 15, 1922 in South Solon, Ohio to Charles and Pauline (Ellars) Heskett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorothy; brothers, Clarence and Chet, and stepbrothers Alva and Carl.
Gerald served in the Army in WW2 in the Signal Corps with the 295th Joint Assault Signal Company. He participated in the Pacific Theatre as part of the "island hopping" mission, ending in the liberation of the Philippines. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America.
Gerald will be greatly missed by his son Gerald "Jerry" (Nancy) Heskett, and his two granddaughters Emily (Jarret) Holley, and Jessica Heskett, nieces and nephews and their spouses, and surviving brother-in-law Herbert Moore. He was generous to his family and embraced being a "Papaw" to his granddaughters.
A funeral celebrating Gerald's life will be held at 11am Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street, Preacher Jeff Copley presiding. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Glen Rest Memorial Estates at 2pm Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
