Gloria R. Pavone

Gloria R. Pavone, age 96 of Columbus passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at Brookdale Pinnacle. Gloria was born in Columbus to the late Melchiorre and Maria (née Ricci) Pavone and graduated from South High School. At age 16, she began her career at Nationwide and retired with 65 years of dedicated service. Gloria was the executive secretary for Nationwide CEO Dean Jeffers throughout his career at Nationwide. She was a longtime and faithful parishioner of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She was very independent, hardworking and dedicated to her work and her Nationwide family. She was a fabulous baker and everyone looked forward to her cakes, pies, and cookies. Gloria's family was very important to her. She took care of her mother until her mother's passing and doted on her nieces and nephews and their families with loving care and generosity. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Crescenza (Albert) Scarpitti and Caroline (Mike) Lomano; nephew Donald Tigyer; nephew-in-law Floyd Snyder. Gloria is survived by her nieces Carol Snyder, Maria Barrow, and Anita Scarpitti; nephew Michael Scarpitti; great nieces and great nephews great-great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church 473 S. Roys Ave Columbus, OH 43204. Rev. Fr. Patrick Toner, Celebrant.
