

A memorial service for Gloria Vivien Worstell, age 87, of Newark, will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Snoddy officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.
Gloria passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born February 5, 1926 in Corning, Ohio and was raised by her grandmother.
Gloria was a graduate of Corning High School. She retired from Marshall’s and had also been employed with the Union Department Store in Columbus. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and R. Bruce Pickering of Granville; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Stephanie Worstell of New Albany; step-son, Ronald (Donna) Worstell of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Brian (Lori) Pickering of Broadview Heights, Brad (Patti) Pickering of Pickerington, Brent Pickering of Granville and Staci Palmer of Upper Arlington; great-grandchildren, Luke, Drew, Cate, Mallory, Lauren, Matthew, Kallie and Mia.
In addition to her grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Worstell, January 22, 1987.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
