

Godfrey “Sam” Rings, Jr., age 83, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born in Hilliard on September 12, 1928, to the late Ruth (Armstrong) and Godfrey Rings, Sr., and was an area salesman for several window and door companies throughout his working years. Sam was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, but mostly he found joy spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved dearly. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Reber; and siblings-in-law, Jack Reber, John Finch, George Schatz, Joseph Clark, and Roland Thiergartner. Sam is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole Rings; children, Keith Alan (Marcy) Rings, Kevin Arthur (Kari) Rings, and Kerry Austin (Carrie) Rings; grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, Jocelyn, Connor, Brenna, and Brooke; siblings, Louis (Carolyn) Rings, Ruthella Finch, Joan Schatz, Patty Clark, Mae Etta Thiergartner, and Henry (Carmen) Rings; and other extended family members and friends. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with visitation for one hour prior at St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin, with Rev. Gerald Heimlich officiating, and Rev.
