Harry Edward Erb

Harry Erb, age 84, passed away on April 4th, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Margaret Erb and sister Dorothy Mettert. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Barker Erb; sister Mary (George) Bubalo; children Theresa (Fred) Boyle, Ron (Cindi) Erb, Renee (Brian) McClain; grandchildren Andrew Boyle, Caitlin (Tom) Moriarty, Cori (Matthew) MacFarland, Colin McClain, Eric Erb, Connor Boyle, Mark McClain and Rachel Erb; and one great granddaughter, Riley Ann Boyle.

He retired after 38 years of service with Ohio Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a long time member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Society, vocations committee and Columbus Serra. Harry was President of the 1949 class of Aquinas High School, graduated from The Ohio State University and attended the University of Toledo Law School on the G.I. Bill. He was a veteran of the Korean War. At Ohio State he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, business honorary – Alpha Kappa Psi, Romphas, Bucket and Dipper, Sphinx, and Ohio Staters, Inc. He was a life member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association.

The family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Columbus, OH 43221 on Wednesday, April 9th from 5-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 10 am at St. Agatha Church, 1480 Northam Road, Columbus, 43221. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
