

Harry Richard Schwarz passed on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was 95. Harry was born on May 22, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to Harry and Viola Schwarz. He graduated from the University of Missouri (Columbia) in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Upon graduation Harry was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He served 22 years in the Air Force, piloted C-130 planes, and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel and Command Pilot.
It was at the University of Missouri where Harry met the love of his life, Maxine Coffman. They married in 1953 and enjoyed 65 years together. Most of their years together they lived in Columbus, Ohio due to Harry’s last Air force assignment at Lockbourne Air Force base in 1969. They became huge Buckeye fans even surpassing their love for their Missouri Tigers.
Harry was a member of Reynoldsburg Community Church.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine, and sister Dorothy Munson.
He is survived by his children: sons Douglas and wife Kyle of Alliance, OH; Robert of Carrboro, NC; and daughter Lynn of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Natalie Ridley (Kevin), Alisha Glasser (Drew), Brock Schwarz (Pamela), Aaron Schwarz and Kendra LeGrand (Will), and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Reynoldsburg Community Church (1636 Graham Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068). The family will greet guests following the service.
