Hazel Marie Reid

Hazel Marie Reid, age 88, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022 at ProMedica Westerville after an extended illness. She was born December 30, 1933 in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of William Brice Baker and Goldie Baker Blackburn. She Graduated with Honors from Minford High School. She moved to Columbus, where she worked as a secretary for Columbus Coated Fabrics before marrying her husband, the late Stanley Dean Reid. She trusted the Lord as her personal Savior and became an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was an amazing homemaker – completely devoted to her family with a caring, giving nature that extended to neighbors and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Mark Allen Reid; grandson, Timothy James Peters, Jr.; son-in-law, Bill Peters; and brothers, Thelmer, John, and Charles Baker. She is survived by daughters, Sherry Ann Peters of Westerville, Terry Lynn (Daniel) McPherson of Columbus, and Tina Louise (Mark) Paynter of Delaware; half-sister, Juanita (Mark) Fraulini of Franklin Furnace; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous cousin, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received from 12-1pm Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Heart & Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger Linden Memorial Chapel, 2741 Cleveland Avenue.
